RECOMMENDATIONS FOR NEW LAX TRAVEL FAMILIES:

  1. Stick Travel - TSA normally doesn’t allow a lacrosse shaft (stick) to pass. Many players will remove the stick head and keep it in their carry-on for safekeeping while placing their stick shaft in their checked luggage. (Be sure to keep up with the screw and screwdriver. Having extra screws on hand isn’t a bad idea.)

Some airlines allow dedicated stick bags. (Check with your airline)
Others report that they can put the stick in a poster tube and carry through TSA, but the head must be removed.

If your daughter has two sticks (her main stick and a backup), please bring both.

  2. Bring two mouthguards (not white) - mouthguards are one of the most commonly lost items.

  3. Goggles - a second set is also helpful as this is another commonly lost item.

  4. Practice Pennie or Uniform (Some parents purchase a second uniform or pennie since lacrosse induces significant amounts of sweat;-)

  5. Large Waterbottle

  6. Lacrosse (Stick tape)

  7. Band-Aids for minor cuts and blisters

  8. Sunscreen

  9. Electrolytes throughout the week before the tournament.

  10. Any knee and ankle support your daughter uses.

  11. Cleats

  12. Crocs or sliders for resting feet in between games.

  13. Extra lax socks in case it’s wet.

  14. Chair(s) - This is a great travel chair. Very stable up to 250 lbs. Easy to fold/transport. Fits in your checked luggage. CLICK HERE

Note: many tournaments do not offer chair rental.

COLD WEATHER TOURNAMENT RECOMMENDATIONS:

  1. Under uniform heat gear (must be all-black) Under Armour is recommended for tops and leggings.

  2. Ear warmers and hand warmers (Amazon carries some nifty electronic hand warmers)

  3. Sideline weatherproof cold-weather coat.

  4. Chapstick - Actually this is a great anytime item. Coming from Houston lips tend to get dry even with a slight drop in humidity.
